Two of those matches will be taking place early morning on Indian time, meaning they will be taking place on Tuesday evening in the United States and the Caribbean. While India’s third Group A clash, against co-hosts USA, will take place at a time that is more suitable for the billion-plus Indian audience.

Here’s a quick look at the matches in store on Wednesday:

Match 23: Sri Lanka vs Nepal

Sri Lanka face fellow south Asians Nepal in a must-win fixture in Lauderhill, Florida on Tuesday. The 2014 T20 world champions have had a mixed campaign so far, suffering a six-wicket defeat against South Africa in New York in their tournament opener after getting bundled out for 77 followed by a narrow two-wicket defeat against rivals Bangladesh at the same venue in their next outing.

The Wanindu Hasaranga-led side currently find themselves at the bottom of the table with two defeats in as many outings and the worst possible Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.777. Nepal too, are winless at the moment, having suffered a six-wicket loss against Netherlands in Dallas which has left them with an NRR of -0.539.

Both Sri Lanka and Nepal will not only be aiming to win the upcoming clash on Wednesday, but win big.

Sri Lanka vs Nepal will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida at 5 AM IST.

Match 24: Australia vs Namibia

A day after
South Africa virtually clinched their spot in the Super 8s
, 2021 T20 world champions Australia will be hoping to follow suit when they face Namibia in Antigua on Wednesday.

Australia currently find themselves at the second spot on Group B with two wins in as many outings, trailing Scotland by a solitary point though they have a game in hand. A victory on Wednesday should not only take them to the numero uno position but also seal the deal for the Mitchell Marsh-led side given Namibia, England and Oman — the first team to get knocked out — will not be able to catch up on points.

Namibia have beaten Oman but lost to Scotland so far, and will have to pull off back-to-back upsets against Australia and England if they are to advance to the Super 8s.

Australia vs Namibia will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua at 6 AM IST.

Match 25: USA vs India

Like South Africa on Monday, India will be aiming to virtually seal their place in the Super 8s with a victory on Wednesday, which will be their third on the trot in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue, however, face an upbeat USA, who have also won both of their matches so far in the tournament, making Wednesday’s clash in New York a top-of-the-table Group A showdown.

India began their campaign with an eight-wicket hammering of Ireland in New York last Wednesday. The Rohit Sharma-led side would then have a
narrow escape against Pakistan
on Sunday, successfully defending a modest total of 119 thanks to a terrific comeback from the Jasprit Bumrah-led bowling unit.

pulling off a shock win over 2009 champions Pakistan

Wednesday’s clash will also be the first time heavyweights India face the United States in any format.

USA vs India will be played at the Nassau County Stadium, New York at 8 PM IST.
