RBI allows Bank of Baroda to onboard customers through BoB World app


RBI has revised its decision to impose restriction on BOB World, allowing it to onboard customers through the app, Bank of Baroda informed stock exchanges on May 8.


 


The lifting of restriction applies to PSU lender with immediate effect, the bank said.


 


Back in October 2023, the banking regulator had directed our BoB to suspend further onboarding of customers onto ‘Bob World’ mobile application, citing ‘certain material supervisory concerns’ observed in the processes.

TVS Motor Q4 net profit rises 18% to Rs 485 cr


TVS Motor Company saw its fourth-quarter net profit rise 18 per cent to Rs 485 crore in the March quarter, aided by robust volumes, healthy product mix, better pricing and benign commodity costs. The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer’s revenue from operations jumped by 24 per cent to Rs 8,169 crore in Q4FY24.

Live-in relationship is an “imported philosophy” and against the “expectations of Indian tenets”, the Chhattisgarh High Court has observed, holding that the institution of marriage no longer controls the people as it did in the past.


The division bench made the remark while dismissing an appeal of a man seeking custody of a child born from his live-in relationship with a 36-year-old woman.

0.1% wildlife cover was on fire, Uttarakhand government tells Supreme Court


The Uttarakhand government infomed the Supreme Court today about the steps taken to control the raging forest fires and said 0.1 per cent of the wildlife cover in the state was on fire due to such incidents. The state government told the bench that from November last year, there have been 398 forest fires in the state and all of those were man-made.

Kerala journalist covering man-animal conflict crushed to death by elephant


AV Mukesh,  a cameraman and columnist with a Malayalam TV channel Mathrubhumi News who was part of a news team covering wild elephant menace in Kerala’s Palakkad district was crushed to death by an elephant on Wednesday, the police said.
