UGA ascends in latest USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll

The Georgia Bulldogs are back in the the top-25 rankings after winning two of three games in their most recent series against Missouri. Georgia checks in as the No. 23 team in the April 15 edition of the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll, which is up six spots from last week.

Georgia baseball went 3-1 over the last week. The Dawgs suffered a painful extra-innings loss in their second game against Missouri, but bounced back to win the third game of the series. Star infielder/outfielder Charlie Condon continues to excel for Georgia. Condon has 24 home runs (most in the country) and 52 RBIs this season.

Georgia head coach Wes Johnson is off to a good start in his first season with the Bulldogs. Georgia is 7-8 in SEC play and 27-9 on the season.

The SEC has four of the five top teams in the country in Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. The SEC is looking like baseball’s strongest conference.

Texas A&M replaces Arkansas the No. 1 team in the country. Georgia baseball’s next game is against Ole Miss at Foley Field in Athens, Georgia, at 6:00 p.m. ET on Friday, April 19. The Bulldogs play a three game series against Ole Miss from Friday to Sunday.
