Spartansburg, N.C – The Women’s team faced setbacks on Day 2, slipping from their position on Day 1. Despite displaying impressive golf, they encountered challenges on a couple of difficult holes, which affected their overall score.

Quinn showcased consistent play throughout the day, maintaining a strong performance. However, the team dropped from third to fourth place, accumulating 4 more strokes compared to the previous day. Piedmont University surpassed them by just a stroke.

Head Coach Blair Garner highlighted the learning curve for the freshman members of the team, expressing confidence in their potential for improvement in consistency. He emphasized the unforgiving nature of the course, where even minor errors can have significant consequences. Despite the challenges, Coach Garner commended the team’s resilience and determination.

In individual standings, Sydney Richards sits in 11th place with +21, followed by Quinn Shupe in 10th place with +18. Halle Western holds 13th place with +23, while Ellie Billings is tied for 16th with +30, and Maura Hawks follows closely in 18th with +31.

The Knights are determined to bounce back strong on the upcoming day, ready to tackle the challenges ahead with renewed focus and determination.
