“RIP”: NFL World Remembers Dwayne Haskins’ Tragic Death with Heavy Hearts on 2nd Anniversary

Must read

Dwayne Haskins, the Pittsburgh Steelers QB, left a legacy before he passed away 2 years ago. Even though he played for just 3 seasons in the NFL, Haskins’ death came as a shock for Steelers and Buckeyes fans. He was only 24 years old when he passed away because of a tragic accident. The cause of Haskins’ death was revealed as an accident, the rental truck he was driving ran out of gas, and a dump truck struck him, which killed him at the scene.

Later in March, his widow Kalabrya Haskins filed a lawsuit which revealed the dump truck was overweight and being operated carelessly. However, further probing into the case revealed that Haskins was reportedly ‘drugged for the intention of robbing and extorted’, per Marca, before the accident unfolded westbound on Interstate 595 in Florida around 6:30 a.m.

Per ESPN, the family of Haskins has agreed to “partial settlements” with the driver, the owner, and the broker of the dump truck. The lawsuit filed against the 14 defendants alleged different things on various people involved for drugging, over-speeding, and robbing Haskins.

The QB’s contribution to the Steelers team and his exemplary career in college football with Ohio State Buckeyes had the fans swooning over him. Ever since Haskins got drafted as No. 15 Overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, he started 13 games for Washington over 2 seasons before joining the Steelers. As fans mourn the death of their beloved jersey No. 7, condolences and prayers commemorating Haskins on his second death anniversary are pouring in.
