There was a shift in dominance at the Ball Arena tonight, as the Minnesota Timberwolves ousted the Denver Nuggets in the first game of the second-round series. The home team saw heavy performances by Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr, posting 32 and 20 points, respectively. However, Anthony Edwards went ballistic on the defending champions, churning out more points than minutes played on the court (43 points in 42 minutes). Moreover, he shot an excellent 58% from the field (17 of 29 shots).
With that, when asked about the reason behind Edwards’ high-scoring game, Antman said “its tough” while giving credit to Denver’s “team, their crowd” and the “altitude” and applauding his teammates. However, when asked to look back at his 2023-24 playoff surge, Edwards cited, “Nothing man, I’m putting work this summer. Big shoutout to USA Team man, they got me ready for the season and I appreciate that man.”
