This is the second time the U.S. and Canada will face off in the tournament. Team USA beat their rivals 1-0 in overtime on Monday in pool play.
The U.S. advanced to the finals with a 5-0 win over Finland in the semifinals on Saturday. Laila Edwards had a hat trick. The U.S. broke open a close game with three goals in the third period. The Americans outshot Finland 55-15.
Canada beat Czechia 4-0 and advanced to its 22nd gold medal game in 23 Women’s Worlds events. The Canadians outshot their opponents 47-9 on Saturday.
Finland will play Czechia for the bronze medal on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game also will be broadcast on the NHL Network.
