‘He adored Trump, and then rejected him’

Must read

Wednesday’s newspapers have former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial on their front pages. The Washington Post says Trump is fighting “on two fronts” — testing a gag order and enduring the testimony of David Pecker, a former ally and National Enquirer boss. Pecker “served as Trump’s ‘eyes and ears'” during the 2016 election, the Los Angeles Times says, and he testified to “burying stories to shield Trump,” The New York Times adds. The Tampa Bay Times distills national politics down to one local resident, who “adored Trump, and then rejected him. How?”

President Joe Biden’s Federal Trade Commission “bans noncompete clauses” for most employees, The New York Times says. That rule “lets workers switch to rival firms,” the Post says. The Wall Street Journal leads with the noncompete ban “setting up clash with business.”
