JAMMU, May 8: A special session titled “An Inspiring Journey from B Tech to MS in the USA” was held online at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (DoECE), Central University of Jammu.
Omkeshwar Shukla, currently based in Qualcomm USA, served as the special speaker for the event. He shared invaluable insights about his journey from completing his B Tech in India to pursuing an MS in the USA. He emphasized six pivotal pillars essential for this transition: CGPA, work experience, guidance from professors/mentors, purpose of statement (POS), important exams such as GRE/IELTS/TOEFL, expenses and loan requirements, and letters of recommendation (LOR) from professors.
By elaborating on the significance of each pillar, he provided valuable advice and guidance to students for their academic and professional pursuits.
The event was attended by students and faculty members of the Department of ECE at the Central University of Jammu, in the presence of Prof Rakesh Kumar Jha, HoD, ECE. Prof Jha played a dynamic role in organizing and facilitating the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
