The USA have dominated women’s basketball for nearly 50 years as part of the Olympic Games, winning seven consecutive gold medals dating back to the triumph on home soil in Atlanta 1996. They have not even lost a game since and will be chasing an eighth gold in a row in Paris.
“I know it’s the most competitive team in the world,” Clark continued, “and I know it could have gone either way of me being on the team or me not being on the team. I’m excited for them and I’m going to be rooting them on to win gold. I was a kid that grew up watching the Olympics, it’ll be fun to watch them.”
The USA will take on Germany, Japan and Belgium in Group C at Paris 2024, where they are set to begin their Olympic title defence at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille.
