WSG acquires American fashion brand Von Dutch | Retail News USA

WSG Brands has announced the acquisition of Von Dutch, the Hollywood fashion and lifestyle brand that is popularly known for its bold presence and iconic styles.

CEO and COO of WSG, Marc Benitez, and Jack Cheika will lead Von Dutch under the new ownership. With a strong global presence in the USA, Europe, Indonesia, Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand, Von Dutch will now maintain its global growth trajectory under WSG’s new ownership.

In a joint statement Benitez and Cheika said, “We are excited to channel Von Dutch’s storied legacy, led for several years by Groupe Royer and now by WSG, into innovative designs that resonate with today’s fashion-forward consumers.”

According to a press release from the company, WSG Brands, a recently established brand management company with cutting-edge licencing strategies, will prioritise and focus on brand integrity, sustainability, and long-term vision to make sure that every Von Dutch item, from its ready-to-wear to its classic trucker hats, stays true to the authenticity and heritage of Von Dutch as a symbol of bold individuality and dynamic self-expression.

With the help of Brandthinktank Group, the former owners Groupe Royer and its subsidiary Royer Brands International (RBI) have given WSG control of the American brand as of June 2024 as part of their refocused investment.
