The U.S. team scored a gigantic upset in the preliminary group stage of the Men’s T20 World Cup with a victory over Pakistan that helped fuel a run to qualify for Super Eights. Now, the Americans start anew as underdogs in the same Group 2 as England, South Africa and the West Indies. That challenge starts right away against a South Africa team still in search of its first ever World Cup finals appearance.

South Africa rolled through Group D play with a perfect 4-0 record and eight points to claim a Super Eight spot. The team had to work hard to win the group, let alone sweep its four games, so the United States does have hope to keep the upset train in motion. The Americans also have matches scheduled against defending champion England and the West Indies.
