Jayson Tatum Already Bringing This Celtics Mindset To Team USA

Must read

Jayson Tatum put the team before himself throughout the season as the Boston Celtics finally got over the hump to capture Banner 18 with a win in the 2024 NBA Finals.

The star-studded starting lineup preached the value of sacrifice all season long and that ultimately led to a long-awaited championship. Now, Tatum looks to bring that same mindset to the Olympics with Team USA.

“First and foremost, you’ve got high-character guys that understand what we’re trying to accomplish,” Tatum told reporters at a Team USA workout, per NBC Sports Boston.

Tatum and Team USA do enter as reigning champions after a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. With the next installment of the games coming up later this month Tatum is ready to do whatever it takes for another addition to the trophy case.

“That’s all that matters,” Tatum shared. “Not who starts (or) how many points you average. All that matters is we come home with a gold medal. Having that mindset and having guys that understand that you have to change a little bit. Still be yourself. Be who you are that got you to this point. We all have to change a little bit.”

Tatum joins Team USA once again, this time with Celtics company in teammate Jrue Holiday.
